🔗 Share this article Vinted Shoppers Share Frustration Over Size Modifications Vinted users have been reacting angrily following a change that caused listings displaying inaccurate size information. The second-hand shopping app has altered its sizing categories for women's and children's garments without notifying every member regarding the update. Social Media Backlash Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media saying Vinted listings now show a different size category compared to what was initially listed as a result of the reclassification. Vinted explained the updated approach better aligns with similar services. They have suggested members to check their listings and manually change the size when needed, causing user dissatisfaction. Size Classification Changes Earlier, the measurements included numerical and alphabetical indicators, for instance S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter and a range for example S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the sizing has been recategorised - like an L measurement used to be a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Member Experiences One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. A different member, located in Scotland, said garments she listed with size 14 tags were displaying on the service as size 20–22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they may become frustrated," she stated. Manual Updates Charlotte Lunn, located in England, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products". "This situation is especially annoying, as I'm chronically ill and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she explained. Service Background The app has more than 100 million users, including 18 million in the UK. It has become a favored option compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion where an unanticipated change within the service has received backlash: last year, the platform withdrew an update to its shipping options due to shopper criticism.
